20 Greatest Movie Moments Of The 2010s

14. The Wolf Of Wall Street: Naomi Leaves

Martin Scorsese's wonderful dark comedy The Wolf of Wall Street has often been accused of being amoral and of condoning the appalling behaviour of the greedy stockbroker characters, but this controversy totally misses the point; this amazing climactic sequence is evidence.

Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) is ultimately ruined by his corruption and hedonism and his wife Naomi (Margot Robbie) divorces him and takes their children away from him.

This amazing, one-take sequence - in which Jordan beats Naomi, does cocaine and crashes his car while trying to drive off with his child - is a fantastically-written display of the terrible consequences of behaving as appallingly as Jordan Belfort. Additionally, it shows Martin Scorsese at the height of his cinematic power and Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie both give astonishing performances.

It's another one of the finest film endings of the 2010s and if ever evidence of just how much the controversy about the film missed the point was needed, this masterful bit of drama would be a perfect example.
