20 Greatest Revenge Movies Of All-Time

10. I Saw The Devil

Showbox/Mediaplex

If you like revenge films that really take their protagonists into the very heart of darkness, look no further than South Korean flick I Saw The Devil, which does exactly that - and then some.

The plot features a former cop (read as: former super cop) and his mission to track down the serial killer who brutally murdered his fiance. This paves the way for a bunch of insanely violent sequences, set-pieces and fight sequence. The most refreshing aspect inherent to the movie stems from the fact that the lines between good and evil begin to blur as the protagonist goes deeper, forcing audiences to ask: "Is this really okay?"

Gorgeously shot from start to finish, and featuring a crazy, unhinged performance from Choi Min-sik (who you know from Oldboy), this is a revenge film unlike any other: totally insane, but retaining a sense of sadness that lingers with you long after the credits roll.
