20 Greatest Sci-Fi Films Of The 21st Century

1. WALL-E

walle WALL-E is not only the sci-fi film of the century so far, but it might one of the most beautifully made films, in every aspect, that Hollywood has ever turned out. I have watched this movie more than ten times since it came out in 2008, and the only flaws I ever find are so inconsequential that they don't affect the overall quality one bit. It's a darn near perfect mix of everything you would want in a movie: breathtaking visuals, a simple but perfectly executed story, a completely lovable main character, and it even manages to throw in some interesting criticisms of modern society as well. WALL-E is a rarity for a Hollywood movie, particularly for the last decade, in that it managed to be both an artistic accomplishment of the highest order, and a massive box office success. It remains the pinnacle of Pixar Animation Studios, American animated filmmaking, and sci-fi filmmaking in the 21st century and maybe the closest thing to a flawless movie in many, many years.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
