14. Brodie - Mallrats
You're lying if you try to say that at no point in your life would you have loved to have a friend like Jason Lee's character in Mallrats. At the very least, he would keep things interesting. Yeah, he's kind of an unambitious loser, but can you think of a better person to waste your life away with at the mall? He's loud, offensive, outspoken, and always seems seconds away from flying off the handle over minor annoyances that the rest of society seems to be able to ignore. Consider, for example, children who were not taught by their parents to have a healthy fear and respect for escalators. Jason Lee's voice alone is brash and challenging, ready to pick an aggressively sarcastic fight over something meaningless. But at the end of the day, you know that if you're his friend, he'll do pretty much anything for you. Including making an appearance on a tragically lame early 90s dating show. If that doesn't show you care, nothing will.
