20 Highest Grossing Movies Of 2016 - Ranked Worst To Best
1. Zootopia
Box Office: $1.023 billion (#3)
And finally, the best film of the year to also clean up at the box office is arguably Disney's best film since The Lion King, Zootopia.
A stingingly funny, socially relevant look at racism and discrimination, the movie manages to balance its message with a Shane Black-inspired neo-noir narrative, propelled by gorgeously-designed characters and a slew of fun vocal performances.
With a ton of adult gags that'll fly over kids' heads and an uncommon level of intelligence for a straight-up Disney production, it'd be easy to mistake this one for pure Pixar gold.
If it doesn't win the Best Animated Feature Oscar in February, something's gone horribly wrong.
