Release Date: August 29th Within the landscape of robot dinosaurs, talking raccoons and warring monkeys,Erik Van Looy's remake of his own Belgian thriller might feel somewhat out of place, but the whodunnit concept is deliciously engaging. The film follows five married men - Karl Urban, James Marsden, Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet and Matthias Schoenaerts - who jointly own an upmarket loft, which they use to discreetly meet their respective mistresses, but when a murdered woman appears in the loft, they begin to suspect each other. The story plays out in flashbacks, intertwined with scenes from the present, as the events of the murder and its impact are played out. The Selling Point: The original was universally loved in Belgium, where it broke all box office records. The Concerns: Straight remakes of foreign language movies are often problematic (and at worst unnecessary) - and you have to wonder why Warner Bros gave the film up to Universal.
