Who doesn't love a story about a haunted killer car?

Announced just this summer, From A Buick 8 has been optioned for a big screen adaptation that is set to be helmed and written by William Brent Bell, who made The Boy and The Devil Inside. So creepiness can be fully expected.

The story came out in 2002 as the second killer car story in his catalogue (the first being Christine, of course) and focuses on supernatural events in the town of Statler, Pennsylvania, where a mysterious /54 Buick Roadmaster has been locked up by police for two decades.

Previously, George A Romero had been considered to make it, but that fell by the wayside and now it's up to Bell to deliver on the story's promise.
