20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Characters In Quentin Tarantino Movies

7. Vincent Keeps His Finger On The Trigger (Pulp Fiction)

One of the most hilarious scenes in Tarantino's filmography occurs after Vincent and Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) kill Brett and all of his associates, except for Marvin (Phil LaMarr), who they bring with them to their car. While the trio are driving along, Vincent turns to Marvin, his gun pointed square at his face, and asks him his opinion on the "divine intervention" that Jules claims took place when the hail of bullets missed him at Brett's apartment. Marvin stays out of it, but Vincent insists, declaring, "You gotta have an opinion. You think God came down from Heaven and stopped...", and just at that moment, Vincent's gun fires, exploding Marvin's head all over the interior of the car. Vincent insists they must've gone over a speed bump, but Jules is adamant they didn't, leading to the whole hilarious episode where they have to enlist the services of Winston Wolfe (Harvey Keitel) to help clean blood and skull fragments out of the car. Vincent clearly isn't the sharpest knife in the draw, but seriously, how's about not keeping your finger on the trigger? Marvin isn't exactly going anywhere: keep your finger to the side if you're going to point a gun at a dude, or at least put the safety on.
