Despite the often fantastical nature of his movies, M. Night Shyamalan has shot almost the entirety of his film and TV projects in and around the Philadelphia area where he has spent most of his life.

Shyamalan's most recent film, then, Old, marked a major departure, being shot predominantly in the Dominican Republic. As such, this was his first film since his 1992 debut Praying with Anger - which was shot largely in India - not to be filmed in Philly.

This is likely to be a one-off for the director, though, and his upcoming Dave Bautista-starring thriller Knock at the Cabin will almost certainly return him to the place he calls home.
