18. Every Opening Shot Is A Match Cut Of The Paramount Pictures Logo
The Indiana Jones series has a ton of trademarks, though one of the less-recognised ones is that the opening shot in each movie is a match cut from the Paramount Pictures logo (which features a mountain) to a similarly mountainous object, such as an actual mountain in Raiders, a gong featuring a picture of a mountain in Temple, a large rock in Crusade, and a molehill in Crystal Skull. Though it's a minor directorial flourish by Spielberg, it's one of the series' more subtle traditions that has endured since the beginning, and if a fifth Indy film actually does happen, it'll no doubt continue.
