15. Producer Frank Marshall Cameos As A German Pilot - Raiders Of The Lost Ark
Moments before the legendary fight between Indy and the German mechanic (played by Pat Roach, who will be mentioned more later) next to a spinning plane, Indy dispatches the plane's pilot. Apparently, all of the stuntmen working on the film were ill on this day of shooting, so Spielberg felt that producer Frank Marshall (who went on to produce all four Indy films to date) was "German looking" enough for the part and cast him in the role. However, Marshall got more than he bargained for, as it (somehow) took roughly three days to get the shot right, all of which he spent sat in a sweltering cockpit.
