The Line: Ted (Seth MacFarlane) and John (Mark Wahlberg) head to a comedy club to test out their heckling. When the comic asks an audience member to shout out an event, Ted says, "9/11", and when he asks for a person, John says, "Robin Williams". The comic again asks for a person and Ted says, "Robin Williams on 9/11!". They keep trolling along this trajectory, but it's never more brutal than that one. Why It's Awesome: Sure, MacFarlane often shoots for the cheap, offensive gag for shock value, and you can argue that this is no different, but damn if it didn't make an impact, especially considering that the film came out less than a year after Williams' untimely death. It's the nightmare heckle for a comedian, and MacFarlane clearly shot the scene in low lightning intentionally, so whatever sensitive events occurred during post-production could be recorded and piped in easily, at the last minute if need be.
