20 Ludicrous Ways To Die In A Horror Film

6. Forklift Driver Klaus: First Day On The Job (Stefan Prehn & Jorg Wagner, 2000)

Staplerfahrerklaus1 At about 8:50, Staplefahrer Klaus is possibly the cultest short film ever made. Hell, it might also be one of the all time greatest...it's certainly up there. It's a German film that is part forklift safety training video and part horror film. It's perfectly entertaining...and educational at the same time! It starts off with Klaus getting his forklift operators license, and starting his first day on the job. The film makers do actually teach you about the appropriate safety rules and precautions concerning forklift operation, while using Klaus to illustrate everything you shouldn't do....along with the potential consequences, if you don't happen to follow the rules. Though, it's safe to say these are speculative and worst case scenario. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChOHnSL7ZCg After getting a guy stabbed in the head with his own knife, and lopping off another guy's hands....Klaus manages to sever a guy's torso from his legs, and impale another guy with one of his forks- getting himself decapitated in the process- before impaling yet another guy with the other fork and chopping off the first imaplee's arm- causing him to drop his running chainsaw...which makes it's way along the floor, chopping the half-a-man in half (again)...and then chasing the forklift off into the sunset. Just take the approximately 9 minutes to watch the film and see for yourself. You'll be glad you did!

I'm also an anarcho-punk fan that rides a bike, enjoys going on hikes, and really likes fruit....a sort of hippy-punk hybrid, if you will. I graduated from Brock University with an Honours degree in Political Science and an unofficial minor in Film. I enjoy writing learning, reading and writing about politics, film, and punk related issues. I hit shows in TO pretty often and look forward to checking out new films at TIFF every September.
