20 Mind Blowing Conspiracy Movies You Must Watch

17. The Tillman Story

This gut-wrenching documentary details the conspiracy surrounding the tragic death of Corporal Patrick Tillman. Tillman was an American football player who left his professional career and enlisted in the United States Army in June 2002 in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. He joined the Army Rangers and served several tours in combat before he died in the mountains of Afghanistan. The Army at first reported that Tillman had been killed by enemy fire and attempted to use his previous celebrity as a sports-star to publicly display his death as a hero in the infamous €œWar On Terror€, going so far as to have Lieutenant General Stanley A. McChrystal approve the award of a Silver Star to Tillman posthumously. However, when the actual cause of Tillman's death is later ruled by the Pentagon as resulting from 'friendly fire€™, his family begin an unrelenting and heartbreaking fight for the truth in the face of a government who are doing everything possible to hide it and stop anyone from discovering just how far up the chain of command the lie permeates.

I'm a part-time writer, part-time stand-up comedian, full time movie geek who strongly believes Martin Brest's MIDNIGHT RUN is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, movie ever made! (... This is the bit where you mutter "You must be some sort of friggin' comedian if you think Midnight Run is the greatest movie ever made!") I'm a massive junkie for 'revenge' and 'conspiracy' movies and I'm an even bigger fan of all things John Carpenter, Albert Brooks, Coen Brothers, Sidney Lumet, Paul Thomas Anderson, Tony Scott, Christopher Nolan, Michael Mann, Oliver Stone, Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante, David Fincher, Wes Anderson and Shane Meadows. I'm on Twitter at @gazzhowie if you'd like to validate my existence by following me - and my movie review archive can be found at www.gazzhowie.tumblr.com!
