Remember the egg chamber scene where Kane discovers a bazillion unhatched facehugger babies-to-be – in fact, the very scene that leads to his aforementioned visceral death via alien disembowelment?

Remember how there was an eerie blue glow illuminating the egg chamber? Well, that effect wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for British rock band The Who.

The band, who were also at Shepperton Studios experimenting with lasers on a soundstage next door for an upcoming show, were kind enough to loan Ridley Scott their lighting.

So it isn’t too far from the truth to say that without Roger Daltrey and Co, Alien wouldn’t quite be the film we know, love and fear today.
