7. Black Widow's Intro Is A Very Special Scene
The scene featuring Black Widow's introduction was a treat for Joss Whedon - he had studied Russian in college and this gave him the opportunity to use what he'd learned there for the first time in his career. However, that's not what really makes this scene special. Instead, it's the fact that it is the only scene in The Avengers that appears on screen in exactly the same way it was written in Whedon's first draft of the script. It's been reported that the filmmaker was often writing as they were shooting, but his love of strong female characters like Black Widow should perhaps make the lack of alterations here ultimately less surprising.
