5. Kevin Feige Killed Agent Coulson
Joss Whedon has become well-known for killing off the characters fans love, but he wasn't actually the one responsible for deciding to take out Agent Coulson in The Avengers. It was Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige who insisted that the character be taken out, something Whedon reluctantly agreed to despite being well aware that he might receive some backlash from fans. Coulson's death didn't last too long of course - he would be resurrected for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, but it's unclear whether or not Feige was in on the decision to bring the character back on that show when he pulled the trigger.
