You have to let a few things slide to enjoy almost any fantasy/sci-fi series, but the Minion movies, for all the TLC in them, contain a few blunders worthy of the well-intentioned Minions themselves.

For one thing, Dr. Nefario gives the timetable for stealing the moon as 48 hours after Gru gives a bedtime story... but when Gru actually steals the moon, he does it during the day. The start of the second film gives some coordinates for the Arctic that are actually in the Southern Sudan. The latest movie has an American-style fire hydrant in the U.K., and uses the wrong currency for 1968.

Finally, there are boys seen living in Ms. Hattie's Home For Girls, and if that's not a goof, it's sure an interesting untold story.
