Not only has The Texas Chainsaw Massacre been ranked amongst the best horror films of all time by the likes of Total Film, Time, The Guardian and Slant Magazine it’s also been cited as a major influence on Ridley Scott’s Alien and the works of horror directors Rob Zombie and Alexandre Aja.

A copy of the film also resides in the permanent collection of the prestigious Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Not bad for a little horror movie made on a shoestring budget by a bunch of relative amateurs, eh?
