18. There's A Remake... And A Musical

Thankfully Hollywood has so far resisted the urge to remake the film (well, aside from Edge of Tomorrow), but in 2004, Italian film director Giulio Manfredonia did shoot a remake called Stork Day (or It's Already Yesterday), which makes no sense considering the implications of the film. His version is about an egocentric TV documentarian who is trapped in a loop whole filming in Tenerife.

For a while Stephen Sondheim was linked with a musical remake, but he distanced himself in 2003 saying that "to make a musical of Groundhog Day would be to gild the lily. It cannot be improved."
