To give you an idea of how absolutely massive a final Pixar film is, for Monsters University, it would take one CPU over 10,000 years to render the movie - that's 100 million CPU hours.

Luckily, Pixar used roughly 24,000 CPUs (over 2,000 computers) to render the film, so those 10,000 to just two years. Getting a bit more into the details of what makes up a Pixar movie, Collider has a pretty great piece going through some of these numbers.

A few other crazy ones are the fact that for Ratatouille, Pixar rendered 1,150,070 hairs for Remy. In Monsters University, they animated 5.5 million individual hairs on Sully, though with the original Monsters Inc it was only 2.3 million. In Toy Story 2, for the scene where Woody meets Wheezy, there are over 2 million animated dust particles. And for Wall-E, 2,500 unique sounds were recorded for the final film.
