The Moment: After spending so much cinematic time apart (since 2008's The Dark Knight), Batman and his old nemesis The Joker meet up for another go-around, because how could they resist? When It Will Happen: Batman has plenty on his plate for the foreseeable future, and short of a surprise post-credits scene appearance, it seems unlikely that he will be appearing at all in Suicide Squad. As for Justice League, it's possible that The Joker might make an appearance, though it seems far more likely that another Joker/Bats showdown would be saved for the next standalone Batman movie, which presently isn't officially announced but dead certain to happen. Why It Will Define The Movie: Because The Joker is Batman's quintessential and most beloved foe, and given that it'll easily have been a decade-plus without seeing the two square off on-screen, fans will be hungry to see it happen, all the more if Leto's Joker is rapturously received. It'll struggle with inevitable comparisons to The Dark Knight, though hopefully it'll end up different enough that it doesn't really matter.
