1. Cannibal Holocaust - Woman Impaled On Spike (1980) 11.02.2013cannuibal 2 This is my favourite scene in Cannibal Holocaust and I have somehow inadvertently made it my wallpaper on my PC! Basically the crew come across a woman who looks to have been impaled impressively from her vagina right through her mouth. The head of the crew - Alan the asshole is filmed leering at this sight with a great big grin on his face, and I mean he is leering, probably the most ostentatious display of ogling I have ever seen. The camera man says "Watch it Alan, we're filming!" and instantly he transforms his face into one of putrid disgust and utters words to the following effect - "Oh how awful! It must have been some tribal thing". It is the hypocrisy of the film crew that is exposed here. They want to make a documentary but also want to play up the more prurient aspects of the cannibal tribes. There is nothing in their footage to suggest humanity on behalf of the cannibals. And the above scene captures presumably what director Deodato wants to invoke in the viewer - "Let's ogle the savages and their bizarre practices". Then he makes us feel bad.
