If you thought Fantastic Four director Josh Trank's career was over, it seems like he's been given an unexpected lifeline, as his self-written Al Capone biopic is going into production soon, and despite his unsavoury reputation, he's roped Tom Hardy in to star as the legendary gangster.
A smaller-scale project is exactly what Trank needs right now, and if he can pull this one off, then perhaps he might get another shot at the big leagues again...even if the ship has probably sailed in regard to the Star Wars franchise (Trank was originally set to helm the Boba Fett spin-off film).
If this gets Trank back on his feet, considering the clear filmmaking skill he demonstrated in his debut Chronicle, that'd be awesome.
