12. It: Chapter Two

The It remake blew past most people's expectations, serving up an unexpectedly boundary-pushing, sharply-directed and superbly-acted horror movie of the kind that rarely emerges from the big-budget studio system.

The film was only half the story, though, and director Andy Muschietti is currently readying an adaptation of the second half of Stephen King's novel, which will focus on The Losers as adults, with occasional flashbacks to them as kids.

Casting the adult versions of these characters won't be easy, but with the film's ludicrous box office success, it's safe to say Muschietti's going to have a fleet of A-list actors lining up for a part.

If Chapter Two can safely navigate some of the second half's goofier elements, it should be a worthy sequel that absolutely streamrolls the rather terrible second half of the Tim Curry TV movie adaptation.
