20 Most Iconic Hero Introductions In Movie History

10. Quint - Jaws

Another Steven Spielberg film of an entirely different kind to Saving Private Ryan up next. Jaws, the movie which kickstarted the summer blockbuster phenomenon (whilst simultaneously causing thousands of people to never swim in the sea again). The shark tale set the bar for big event movies and is still one of the best of them all. While Chief Brody is perhaps the more obvious "hero" in Jaws, there's a good case to argue that Quint, the rough and ready fisherman played by the great Robert Shaw, is every bit as much a hero as his sea-faring companions. After all, without Quint and his expertise and bravery there'd be no expedition to hunt down and kill the great white shark in the first place (he even makes the biggest sacrifice of them all). His introduction is a favourite scene for many fans of Jaws, even if the way he gets Brody's attention gets right under your skin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPi40lQetew
