12. The Film Just Ends When The Military Shows Up - Jurassic Park 3

The Twist: Alan (Sam Neill) and the other survivors make it to the beach, where Ellie (Laura Dern) has called in the Marines to save the day. Just as Alan and co. are evacuated and it looks like the movie's third act is about to begin with the marines facing off against an island full of dinosaurs, it just...ends.

Why It's Stupid: Because Jurassic Park 3 is only 93 minutes long, or 84 minutes if you don't count the closing credits. Compare that to the run-times of the previous two movies (127 and 129 minutes respectively), and there's a good 35 minutes of film that could (and should) have been inserted here, making up the real third act.

The movie's "end" was such a fantastic set-up for a final half-hour battle between the marines and the dinos, but frankly, it sounds like the entire production was an asinine shambles. The original script was thrown out just five weeks before shooting began, and the movie actually started filming without a finished script, with rewrites continuing long into production. In fact, the film's ending wasn't shot until just 6 months before the movie was released.

Though the movie as a whole is a massive disappointment, a riveting final battle could've somewhat compensated for what came before. Instead, the film just ends with a shockingly dumb anti-climax.
