20 Most Intense Movie Endings Of All Time
19. Scarface (1983)
This iconic, Al Pacino-starring, shamelessly over-the-top crime thriller concluded in suitably bombastic fashion, as drug kingpin Tony Montana (Pacino) takes his last stand, holed up in his luxurious compound, hoofing coke until Sosa's (Paul Shenar) men arrive to take him on.
What follows is one of the most brutally bloody final showdowns ever committed to a film, a thunderously violent ballet of blood, which with Pacino's savage one-liners and his "little friend" (a grenade launcher), cemented the film's status as a pop-culture go-to.
Such an end seemed all-but-inevitable for Montana, and director Brian De Palma milked it for every deliciously drop of adrenaline it was worth.
