20 Most Oscar Nominated Movies Ever - Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Schindler's List (1993)

Schindler's List
Universal Pictures

Nominations: 12

Wins: 7 (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score)

Arguably the crowning achievement of Steven Spielberg's career and one of the most-acclaimed films of all time, Schindler's List conveys the horrors of the Holocaust in singularly devastating fashion.

Hammered home by outstanding performances from Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Kingsley in particular, this is an almost impossibly affecting film that sustains its length extremely well and is without question Spielberg's noblest contribution to the art form (to the extent that he even refused a salary for directing it).

It's not feel-good, it's over three hours long and most of it is in black and white, but it's also the best film with the most Oscar nominations. Just bring tissues, and don't watch it if you're depressed.

How would you rate the most Oscar-nominated movies of all time? Shout them out in the comments!
