Anyone settling down to watch a film called Tokyo Gore Police expecting anything other than non-stop bloody carnage should probably have their head examined. Blood carnage is certainly what this film does best - just how many gallons of fake blood were used in the production is anyone's guess. With Tokyo Gore Police the filmmakers have opted for violence of the most perverted and bizarre variety - the monstrous creatures our protagonist goes up against mutate into all manner of strange beasts with body parts which transform into weapons used to sever limbs, eviscerate and decapitate. Like the American Grindhouse films, Tokyo Gore Police is something of an ode to exploitation movies, pulling out all the stops in its effort to deliver one long grand guignol of a film.
