No. No freakin' way. And we're not talking about that Brian DePalma movie with a similar name, which isn't even part of the IMDb Top 250 by the way, but this paper-thin, "feel good" comedy/drama that the general public seems to think has earned its place as one of the 50 best movies ever made. It actually makes so little sense as to how or why everybody went crazy for The Intouchables; there are thousands of movies better deserving of 37th place. The fact that The Intouchables has even broken the 250 barrier is insane. In case you haven't had a chance to see this picture, then, it was "inspired by the true story of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo and his French-Algerian caregiver Abdel Sellou," and deals in themes such as racism and disability. The problem is that it does it in such a light, fluffy way that the whole picture feels compromised and second-hand. Overrated is an understatement.
