Days of Heaven. Doctor Zhivago. Brief Encounter. Three movies that haven't made it into the Top 250 on the IMDb, and yet Ron Howard's straight-laced Formula One drama, Rush, has. That's not to say Rush isn't an effective movie or didn't deserve good reviews upon release; just that, in the grand scheme of things, does it do enough to warrant a position in the 150 greatest movies to have ever graced this good Earth? Probably not. Ron Howard is renowned for his ability to make the most accessible, mainstream-y movies in Hollywood, and Rush - which stars Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth - is certainly one of his better efforts. But is Rush the sort of picture that will stand the test of time - the sort of movie we'll be telling our kids about in twenty years? Each to their own, we guess. Entirely watchable, but barely anything special, it's an odd movie to find itself in the 250.
