20 Most Rewatchable Movies Of The '80s

1. Raiders Of The Lost Ark

In Steven Spielberg's most spectacular film (yes, that includes Jaws and Jurassic Park), Harrison Ford makes archaeology cool, Karen Allen makes shot-offs look easy and Paul Freeman makes a French explorer seem more odious than the Nazis. The film, of course, is Raiders Of The Lost Ark, one of the most re-watched movies of all time, an adventuring classic that still, even now, gets the laughs, the sweaty palms and the jumps in all the right places. If there's anything left to be said about Raiders, it's that the film was an early sign that the 'Berg could be less family-friendly and a lot darker when he wanted to be. Just take another look at the levels of violence, up to and including that bloody, head-exploding finale. It seems like each and every Raiders scene has been parodied by this point, so ingrained within our culture is the movie. The original is still some rip-roaring entertainment though, undiminished by years of spoofing, and the film that, after Star Wars, cemented Harrison Ford as the man that every other man in the world wanted to be.
