20 Most Ridiculous Moments In Star Wars
17. CGI Grand Moff Tarkin (Rogue One)
The Moment: Grand Moff Tarkin appears in Rogue One, as brought to life with the help of CGI despite actor Peter Cushing having died over 20 years prior.
Why It's So Ridiculous: Though Industrial Light & Magic did about as good a job as anyone could possibly expect in 2017, unfortunately the digital Moff Tarkin just didn't look quite good enough to pass muster, especially considering how much he speaks and how frequently he's featured in close-up.
While low-key lighting is used to try and mask the digital seams, Tarkin's appearance is ultimately more distracting than entertaining, and once again crowbarred open the debate about the ethics of "resurrecting" actors via CGI.
