20 Most Ridiculous Movie Promotional Images Ever Released
12. Antichrist (2009)
Lars von Trier's Antichrist tells the story of a couple (played by Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg) who, after the death of their child, retreat to a cabin in the woods where the man experiences strange visions and the woman manifests increasingly violent sexual behavior and sadism. This violent behavior ultimately manifests when the women crushes her husband's testicles with a block of wood, masturbating him until he ejaculates blood and then cutting off her own clitoris with a pair of scissors. In other words, this movie isnt for everybody. The poster for this film features our two main characters with their head superimposed onto a pair of scissors. While this is of course a nod to the most memorable moment of the film the image comes across as more of a b-movie about a pair of killer scissors than a serious arthouse film. This just makes us wish there really was a movie about killer scissors causing havoc. We'd like to see that movie please.
11. Inseminoid (1981)
Inseminoid (also known as Horror Planet) follows a group of scientists in the future excavating the ruins of an ancient civilization on a distant planet. Things get a little hectic and a monstrous alien creature attacks and inseminates one of the women in the team. Chaos ensues as the unbalanced victim, possessing unnatural strength, murders her colleagues one after another in a psychotic bid to protect her unborn twin hybrid offspring. The accompanying poster for the film features said women as she is giving birth to this creature as two scientists are properly frightened to death. Well, this poster also frightens us as well; and not in a good way. Even by '80s, cheesy, over-the-top science fiction standards, this is still fairly ridiculous.
