1. Boxing Helena
The Plot: In at number one is the infamous Boxing Helena. It tells the story of Julian Sands' lonely surgeon who is obsessed with Sherilyn Fenn's eponymous Helena. After witnessing her being badly injured in a hit-and-run he kidnaps her and, because he's a completely stable and level headed kind of guy, amputates both her arms and legs. Psychological and erotic thrills (allegedly) follow as a power struggle ensues which ends with Helena returning his affections.
The Twist: Completely ignoring the universal number one story telling no-no, we see Sherilyn Fenn asleep in a hospital bed in the final scene of the movie...with both her arms and legs still attached. That's right, it was all a dream. A dream! What did she eat before bed? A slab of Gorgonzola the size of a Fiat Pinto! You may watch some badly made movies and start to wonder if the filmmakers are having a private joke at the expense of the audience but with a plot twist this ridiculous you know that the sole purpose of this film was to urinate all over you while telling you it's raining. If you haven't seen this film yet but fancy giving it a viewing you are advised to pack an umbrella. That's the list done, hope you enjoyed it.
