20 Most Ridiculous Overreactions From Famous Film Characters

7. Thor Almost Flattens Captain America €“ The Avengers

Avengers - Thor By the time we€™ve cleared up with Thor, it€™s been established that Thor loves humanity and is entering Asgard into a treaty to protect Earth. Of course, it does help that he€™s probably bonking (yeah, I use that term) Natalie Portman but still, Thor learns lessons in humility and how to act the hero properly. Yet when we shuffle over to The Avengers, it appears that he forgets this lesson when he€™s angry. Firstly, he attacks a plane in midair to retrieve his captive brother €“ itself a silly act which endangers everyone on board who can€™t fly €“ and then almost obliterates Captain America. Granted, he€™s enraged at the time because he€™s being attacked by Iron Man, but still, it€™s a ridiculous overreaction when he chooses to attack Cap. Remember, Thor doesn€™t really know much about Earth at this point. We€™re not really informed about how much he knows of what€™s been going on on Earth, but he€™s pretty confused to be attacked by a walking suit of armour and doesn€™t seem to know anybody bar Erik Selving, Jane Foster, Darcy and Agent Coulson. This is probably because the bifrost had been broken, so he couldn€™t come back and check at any point. So for all intents and purposes, he thinks Steve Rogers is just a regular bloke €“ a stacked bloke in a garish outfit, but still. He€™s got no idea that the man€™s a tanked-up supersoldier with an indestructible shield, yet still launches at him with one of the most powerful weapons in the universe €“ Mjolnir €“ after Cap pleads with him to put the hammer down. So for all intents and purposes, Thor was intent on turning a regular human into paste for having the temerity to negotiate with him €“ I€™m not sure if this is an overreaction, or if Thor clearly hasn€™t learnt anything since he last visited Earth.
