12. The Pool Fight - The Strangers: Prey At Night

The belated Strangers sequel was a pretty forgettable effort for the most part, but it did feature one stand-out, hair-raising scene that clearly belonged in a far better film.

As siblings Luke (Lewis Pullman) and Kinsey (Bailee Madison) find themselves facing off against a murderous gang of psychotic masked killers, Luke finds himself chased to a public pool area.

While Bonnie Tyler's iconic "Total Eclipse of the Heart" blares out, Luke subdues a female member of the gang, before being attacked by the Man in the Mask.

The two fall into the pool, and after an intense struggle, the masked assailant stabs Luke in the stomach repeatedly, before leaving him to bleed out helplessly in the pool.

Director Johannes Roberts lingers on Luke's desperate flailing around for an uncomfortable amount of time, while his blood fills the pool and Bonnie continues to play.

After more than a minute of lingering on this sorry sight, Kinsey finally shows up and just barely saves her brother from drowning. What an incredibly suspenseful and unsettling scene in an otherwise totally mediocre movie.
