6. The Rock Universe - Everything Everywhere All At Once
Much like RRR, Everything Everywhere All At Once is a movie that could fill this entire list by itself - it's such a creative, energetic, and imaginative piece of work.
And yet, in a film that features a universe where everybody has hot dogs for fingers, an action scene centered around a butt-plug, and a Ratatouille-esque raccoon voiced by Randy freakin' Newman, the biggest WTF moment of all is still that rock scene.
One of the many universes Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh) ends up jumping to sees her and her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) turned into sentient rocks, due to the universe lacking the conditions for life to form.
And so, the pair discuss their existential anxieties via good old-fashioned text, the scene playing out for several minutes in the sort of way that tends to make studios nervous.
Thankfully directors The Daniels evidently had audiences firmly in the palm of their hands by this point, and so they could get away with something this brilliantly, daringly bizarre.
