11. David Lynch Cameos As John Ford - The Fabelmans

Triangle of Sadness
Universal

Steven Spielberg's new film The Fabelman delivers perhaps the best and most unexpected cameo of the entire year, when David Lynch shows up in the film's final scene to play legendary filmmaker John Ford.

Sporting an eyepatch and seemingly struggling to light a cigar, Lynch's Ford dispenses some crucial advice to young filmmaker Sammy (Gabriel LaBelle):

"When the horizon is at the top, it's interesting. When it's on the bottom, it's interesting."

Lynch was an extremely inspired choice to play Ford, and absolutely knocks the scene out of the park, but there's no denying that it's a little jarring to see one legendary filmmaker showing up to play another totally out of nowhere.
