20 Movie Reveals That Must Happen At Comic-Con 2016

5. Brie Larson Introduced As Captain Marvel

Brie Larson has reportedly been in talks with Marvel Studios for a number of weeks. She is the studio's top choice for the role of Captain Marvel, a character set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War and her own solo feature. Marvel loves to make big announcements at Comic-Con and you can bet the studio has been trying to get this deal done in order to introduce Larson to 6,000+ members of the Marvel faithful in Hall H.

As a convenient bonus for Marvel, Brie Larson will already be in town on July 23. Like Tom Hiddleston, Larson will be in Warner Bros.' panel for Kong: Skull Island. If her deal with Marvel is done (and it may already be), then she can go grab lunch and relax for a few hours before returning to Hall H as Captain Marvel. Casting announcements are always fun, but live announcements when the actor can come out on stage are the best.

It would be even better if Marvel has a solo film director to announce along with the star. Just don't count on that, as Captain Marvel's presence in Infinity War could have put the casting ahead of the hiring process for the director of a film that is still almost three years out.
