20 Movie Reveals That Must Happen At Comic-Con 2016
13. New Titles For Avengers: Infinity War
Marvel Studios has 75 minutes to fill in its Hall H presentation at 5:30pm PST on Saturday, July 23. Only two films are definitely ready for full panels (more on those later), which means there will be ample time for announcements. Coming out of Comic-Con, we need to know where we're headed in Phase 3, since it's not exactly the same as we initially thought.
When Marvel first announced its Phase 3 slate in October 2014, everything was supposed to culminate in Avengers: Infinity War. There were two parts, set to be released within one year of each other. Marvel and directors Joe and Anthony Russo have since insisted that the films really will be separate rather than one big film divided in two. Few believed them until a recent revelation from the directors.
Since the release of the first Phase 3 film, Captain America: Civil War, The Russo Brothers have confirmed that the Infinity War films will be retitled. This is the most meaningful step yet in separating the two films. We know the first scripts have been turned in and production will start later this year. It's time to know what we should really be calling these films.
