20 Movie Reveals That Must Happen At Comic-Con 2016

14. A Release Date For The Batman

Comic Con 2016
Warner Bros.

We know it's happening. Ben Affleck is going to direct a solo Batman film based on a script he's written with DC Films boss Geoff Johns. We haven't seen any reports that he's officially signed, but that seems like a formality that is inevitable, or has already happened. If so, then Warner Bros. can announce the official title and release date during its Hall H presentation.

During a press visit to the set of Justice League last month, Affleck told reporters that the script for the solo movie was not quite where he wanted it to be. He did not seem ready to put a date on the film, but perhaps things will change or he was just playing coy.

Affleck has said that he will be at Comic-Con, which could serve the purposes of The Batman, Justice League, or both. It may be a bit of a long-shot, but a release date announcement for The Batman (or whatever it ends up being titled) is not outside the realm of possibility.
