Director Duncan Jones looks set to rebound from his bloated disappointment Warcraft with a return to the smaller scale of his previous movies Moon and Source Code.

Mute has been Jones' passion project for many years and only went into production when Netflix stepped in to distribute it.

The plot's largely being kept under wraps, but it takes place in Berlin 40 years into the future, where mute man Leo Bailer (Alexander Skarsgard) searches for his missing wife, with two American surgeons (Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux) being his only clues.

If there's any movie to renew Jones' creative energies after the generic slop that was Warcraft, this is surely it. The fact you won't even need to leave your bed to watch a visionary sci-fi director do his thing, free of studio constraints no less, is just the icing on the cake.
