14. Antoine Fuqua: Coolio - "Gangsta's Paradise"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpGbzYlnz7c The theme behind Michelle Pfeifer-starring 1995 drama Dangerous Minds, American rapper Coolio managed to bring gangster rap into the mainstream through intelligent lyrics and an infectious beat. To this day, "Gangsta's Paradise" still remains a bit hit and rightly so. Whilst the film was directed by John N. Smith, the now celebrated video was shot by the brilliant Antoine Fuqua who is no stranger to bringing tough content to the screen. With muscular titles including Training Day (2001) and Brooklyn's Finest (2010) in his filmography, the auteur is busy shooting The Magnificent Seven remake with Chris Pratt and had a major box-office hit this year with Southpaw. Fuqua has a prolonged career in music video content too; providing work for artists such as Lil' Wayne, Prince and Stevie Wonder.
