20 Must-See Billion Dollar Movies

19. Toy Story 4

Jurassic Park
Pixar

Gross: $1,073,394,593 (#33 of All Time)

Were people asking for Toy Story 4? Not at all. Once it arrived, did anyone wish it hadn't been made? Once again, not at all.

Toy Story 4 is one of the best unnecessary sequels ever made. The animation is visually exquisite, the performances are great and the story is, just like with the other Toy Story films, fun enough for kids but rich and dramatic enough for adults too.

Best of all, it doesn't undermine the flawless conclusion of the third film. It provides another enormously satisfying and fittingly bittersweet ending to this most beloved and consistent of franchises.

In all honesty it's a better franchise ending than Toy Story 3, which hasn't endured multiple viewings particularly well (for me anyhow). Toy Story 4 still doesn't match the first two films, but that's not really saying anything since those two movies are pretty much flawless. In its own right, Toy Story 4 is a strong sequel and a worthy member of the billion-dollar club.
