20 Reasons Why Everybody Loves The Lion King

16. Educational

Much like the deliberate degree of authenticity to the design of the characters and backdrop, many aspects of the film regarding portrayal of life in the African wilderness are surprisingly accurate. The myth of the elephant graveyard has existed for hundreds of years, as has the mutual enmity between lions and hyenas. Shenzi as leader of the trio of hyenas corresponds to the species€™ matriarchal society. Adult male lions do challenge others for dominance; while usually including fewer pithy barbs in the wild, it also would result in the slaughter of any male cubs in the pride of the fallen lion, just as Scar intends with Simba. Lionesses are the hunters. Indeed, watching The Lion King is a downright educational experience. That€™s what we tried to tell our parents, anyway.
