20 Sports Documentaries You Must See Before You Die

10. Killer Inside: The Mind Of Aaron Hernandez

Even if you're not a fan of American Football or the NFL, it's nearly impossible to not be aware of the shocking story of Aaron Hernandez. If you were a little bit too young to witness the craziness that happened during O.J Simpson's case - we'll get to that a little later on in this list - then this one should be considered your generation's version.

During his relatively brief professional football career, Hernandez had the type of performances that made many fans believe that the talented tight end for the New England Patriots was set for stardom in the NFL.

He had the build, the speed, the strength and knew the game inside out. However, while he was the perfect professional on the field, the criminal and homicidal life he led off it is one of the most insane things you'll ever see.

The documentary does a fantastic job of answering a lot of questions, but also posing some new ones as well. For example, was Hernandez a genuinely evil, murderous human being, a product of an abusive environment during his childhood or one of the most high profile victims of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy - otherwise known as CTE - that people have ever seen before?
