20 Things Harry Potter Film Supporting Actors Are Doing Now

11. Jessie Cave - Lavender Brown

Jessie Cave Jessie Cave was cast relatively late in the film series, only appearing in the last three films. She played Lavender Brown, a silly, love-struck Gryffindor who was Ron's first girlfriend. Jessie Cave didn't have a tremendous amount of screen time in the Harry Potter franchise, only really having a role of any depth in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. In that film, she exhibited pretty solid comic timing, but would that be enough to make it as an actress? Her most significant role post-Harry Potter was in the 2012 version of Great Expectations, where she played Biddy, a pleasant young girl who serves as the anti-Estella, and the woman Pip probably should have ended up with if he wasn't such an idiot. She also has a film coming out this September called Pride, which is about a gay activist organization helping miners during the lengthy strike of 1984.

10. Freddie Stroma - Cormac McLaggen

Freddie Stroma Stroma was cast as Cormac McLaggen, an arrogant Gryffindor with designs on Hermione, who was a skilled Keeper and another member of the Slug Club. Basically Ron's biggest rival in every conceivable way. He was another latecomer to the series, making his first appearance in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Freddie Stroma, despite having a pretty limited role in the series, managed to showcase a tremendous amount of charisma, so it's unsurprising that he's had a lot of success after leaving Harry Potter. Right now, he's probably best known for his work in Pitch Perfect, where he plays station manager Luke. He's rumored to be appearing in the sequel due out sometime next year, as well as the sequel to The Inbetweeners Movie. Stroma was also featured in a film last year called After the Dark, about a group of philosophy students who are challenged to decide which ten classmates they would choose to save underground to reboot the human race in the event of an apocalypse.
