20 Things That Almost Completely Changed The MCU

19. John Krasinski Was Seriously Considered For The Roles Of Captain America & Star Lord

John Krasinski, best known for his role as Jim Halpert in the US remake of The Office, appears to have missed out on a Chris Pratt-styled career boost in recent years. That's to say, the actor was one of the major contenders for the role of Steve Rogers, Captain America himself, in the original Captain America movie. According to a series of reports, Krasinski pretty much had the role in the palm of his hands until Chris Evans entered the picture and... well, you know how things went down: Evans nabbed it. But that's not all. Near misses seem to be John Krasinski's bread and butter, given that he was also rumoured to be one of the major contenders for the role of Star Lord in Guardians Of The Galaxy - a part that ultimately went to another TV actor. Whilst John Krasinski is awesome, though, it's kind of hard to imagine him as either character. That said, Marvel are clearly super keen to work with this guy (and rightly so!): here's hoping they find a way to bring him into the MCU at a later date.
